The Spoken Word
|
| |
Greetings to all in the name that is above every name that is named in heaven and in earth. The name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We want to talk about the importance of the Word of God in our lives today. Just how important it is and why. You know Jesus said to the devil as he was being tempted in the wilderness. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
Brothers and sisters we need to realize the significance of those words. We know according to the Gospel of John ch.1. That in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came to his own and his own recieved him not. But as many as recieved him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Hallelujah!! doesn't that make you want to rejoice? What an awesome thing to realize that God would go to such lengths to provide a way for us to be his sons and daughters. To think that the one who spoke the worlds into existance. The one who gave us all life and breath; would actually take upon himself flesh and become like the ones he created to communicate his wondrous Love. When you really get a revelation of the plan and purposes of God and begin to understand his grace and goodness. You will have such a desire to know him better and to please him more.
Brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to recognize and appreciate more fully that everything we are and everything there is, was spoken into existance by the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the Author, he is the orchestrator, he is the creator, he is the giver of every good and perfect gift. So what he says is right every time and his word is truth. Jesus said if you continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed and you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free. Most of our lives before Christ were made up of believing one lie after another, isn't that right.? We need to come to full confidence in the Word of God. Not just what sounds good to us, not just when it is convenient, but we need to learn how to live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God on a daily basis. Give us this day our daily bread. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Jesus taught us that prayer. The daily bread of the living Word of God will deliver us from evil. The apostle John also wrote in a letter. "I write unto you young men, because you are strong and the Word of God abides in you and you have overcome the wicked one. How many of us have overcome the wicked one? If the word of God was truly abiding in us. We would no longer be ignorant of satan's devices. We would no longer fall for his lies. We would be free. Is not this the purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Just one more thought to consider today and it is written several places in the New Testament. I will give you Hebrews 8:10-11 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people. And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest." The Word became flesh and dwelt among us my friends so that same Word could dwell in us. We are becoming flesh of his flesh, and bone of his bone. HALLELUJAH!! Let us rejoice today in this amazing grace of God..
It is written: 1John 3:1-3 Behold what manner of Love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we will see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Souls in Danger

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ May God's peace through our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
As we look around us today and we see the multitudes of people that have been blinded by the god of this world, that great deciever, satan, we should be stirred in our hearts to throw out the life-line to as many as possibe. But, I'm afraid that many within the churches today have lost sight of the great commission and have forgotten that they also were drowning at one time until our merciful Lord Jesus rescued them. I would like to share this little parable with you to stir hearts and to remind all of us what our true mission should be.
The Life-saving Station: On a dangerous seacoast where shipwrecks often occur, there was once a crude little life-saving station. The building was just a hut and there was only one boat, but the few devoted members kept a constant watch over the sea. And with no thought for themselves, they went out day and night tirelessly searching for the lost. Many were saved by this wonderful little life-saving station, and it became famous. Those who were saved, and various others in the surrounding area wanted to become associated with the station and wanted to give their time and money and effort for the support of its work. So new boats were bought and new crews were trained, and the little life-saving station grew. But some of the members of the life-saving station were unhappy that the building was so crude and poorly equipped. They felt a little more comfortable place should be provided as the first refuge of those saved from the sea. So, they replaced the emergency cots and beds, and put better furniture in the enlarged building. The life-saving station became a popular gathering place for its members and they decorated it beautifully and furnished it exquisitely because they used it as sort of a club. Consequently fewer members were now interested in going to sea on life-saving missions. So, they hired lifeboat crews to do the work. The life-saving motif still prevailed in the club's decorations and there was a liturgical lifeboat in the room where club initiations were held. About this time, a large ship was wrecked off the coast and the hired crews brought in loads of cold, wet, half-drowned people. They were dirty and sick, and some of them had black skin and some of them had yellow skin. And the beautiful new club was considerably messed up. The property committee immediately had a shower-house built outside the club, where the victims of the shipwreck could be cleaned up before coming inside. At the next meeting there was a split in the club membership, most of the members wanted to stop the club's life-saving activities as being unpleasant and a hinderance to the normal social life. Some members insisted on life-saving as their primary purpose, pointing out they were still called to be a life-saving station. They were finally voted down, and told if they wanted to save the lives of various kinds of people who were shipwrecked in these waters they could begin their own life-saving station down the coast. Which they did. As the years went by, the new station experienced the same changes that occurred in the old one. It evolved into a club. Yet another life-saving station was founded. History continued to repeat itself, and if you visit that coast today you will find a number of exclusive clubs along that shore. Shipwrecks are still frequent in those waters, but most of the people drown... Author Unknown
I am reminded of an old gospel song, one of my favorites, "Love Lifted Me" I'll share a few stanzas with you.. "I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore, very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more. Then the master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me, now safe am I." "Souls in danger look above, Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by his love out of the angry waves. He's the master of the sea, billows his will obey; He your savior wants to be; be saved today. Love so mighty and so true merits my souls best songs, faithful loving service too, to him belongs. Love lifted me, Love lifted me, when nothing else could help.

Enduring Faith

Good day to all my dear friends in Christ, May Gods grace and peace be with you.
I would like to minister to you today a little on faith. The bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. For he that cometh to God must first believe that he is. ( He Exists) and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. We all believe He exists, but do we really believe the second half of this verse. That God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. You have heard me say many times that ( God is good all the time and all the time God is good)... Brothers and sisters that is the absolute truth. But because we are not so good and the world around us is becoming more and more corrupt and we have had so many poor examples of leadership. Sometimes it is hard for us to believe that God is good. So if we have a hard time believing God is good, than we have a hard time believing that he desires to reward us as we diligently seek Him. I have good news for all of us this day. God does desire to reward His children and is not basing it on the fact of how good we are, but on the facts of his provided way of redeeming us, cleansing us, restoring us and setting us free from any bondages that would hinder us from a close walk of faith and trust in Him as our Heavenly Father. That work was accomplished on a hill called Calvary. God, through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ has made provision for you and I to come unto His throne of grace and recieve all that we need. God has given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness. He has not left anything out. All that we need to live a victorious life in this world has been provided by Jesus Christ.
He is risen folks and lives today and has conquered the evil one and the power of sin and the fear of death. You see friends true faith that pleases God, finds its resting place in the promises of God. It does not strive and fret, but rather patiently waits for the fulfillment of the promise. True faith absolutely trusts that God is good and that his plans are perfect and that he truly does desire to reward His children. Even as Jesus said..How many of you as fathers, if his child would ask for a fish, would he give him a stone. How much more will your Heavenly father give good things to those who ask of Him. He gives us the earnest of our inheritance the Holy Spirit to abide with us forever. You see brethren there is no quit in the Holy Ghost and he will help us have that enduring faith that believes until the end and does not let go of the faithfulness of God and the truth of His spoken word. So be encouraged today and look up to your heavenly Father and believe that He is desiring to bless your life and has made all things available for your living a victorious life in Christ Jesus. Lets not strive anymore with religious dead works, trying to please God in our flesh, but rather let us rest in the promises of God and trust that he will lead us into victory in all areas of our lives.
May God grant you all a blessed day and remember you can absolutely put your trust in Him. He is unfailing and unchanging and His word is true.
